The Second Word
"Truly, I say to you today you will be with me in the Paradise"
Gospel of Luke 23: 43
Last words of promise. A Promise of not a day nor a month nor avyear but FOREVER...
I remember there we're two thieves also scheduled for punishment. Their cross was stood on left and right. The right has still the guts to mock Jesus but on the right one said, "this man has done nothing wrong." Then turning to Jesus and he ask "Jesus, remember me when you come in your kingdom" And Jesus said "Truly, I say to you today you will be with me in the Paradise"
The criminal repent and received forgiveness. How fascinating that this man has trusted Jesus and lifted his whole life to HIM. That any moment he is ready to die with Jesus.
I am a sinner. You are a sinner. People are sinner. Sometimes we do nothing to settle things up to God, we only know is to say i'm sorry, please forgive me. But how strong, how solid, how you really mean that asking forgiveness? When you know to yourself that you are not sincere to make a change from your sins. That you repent only by words not by heart and continuously walking in the "not the right path". This is the point of life that you become afraid of death.
But if you know to yourself that your heading to the "right path". Living by the words of God. Doing all you can to fight the evil inside you. Then you will become ready to face death.
Now the question is, how are you doing? Are you ready to die any moment now?
What do you think?
